Ah….. the Constitution….. our elected officials need to read it!

Ummm….unless Dan changed the picture, that would be the Declaration of Independence. The Constitution wouldn’t show up for a decade or so later…and not on the 4th of July.

Happy, Happy…what a beautiful day to celebrate! God bless America and all that our freedom makes possible for all of us!!

Good to see our Lady Liberty looking strong and holding up a torch as a beacon of hope – but she is a reminder – “give me your tired, your poor” – of how much more there is to do, as we celebrate on this day!

Read amendment 1- Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of people peaceably to assemble , and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. I ask all to consider this amendment on July 4 2019 and ask yourself honestly, has this administration been in compliance? Its the perfect day to address this amendment Happy 4, Richard Fogel

  5. I remember in the 1992 presidential debate Ross Perot, of all people, saying something along the lines of: “Let’s face it, we’re never going to love each another and we may never even learn to like each other. But we’re stuck with each other in this country and we darn well better learn to get along”. That quote was enough to get me to toy with the idea of voting for the guy. I didn’t, of course, but I think of it every Fourth of July.

This holiday reminds us that, like it or not, we’re all in this together and need to show respect even for people we bitterly disagree with. And we can have fun doing it.

    Happy Fourth, Everybody!

i recall Ross Perot talking about aliens, ie, outer space creatures. I do nopt consider Ross Perot an expert on culture and academia. He is wealthy. Out of all the good people in the USA, i find it extremely unusual that you choose to recall this man. He reminds me of Trump

      • Richard, you seem to have missed Mark’s message by the proverbial country mile. It’s not about the messenger; it’s about the message.

        • Richard Fogel

when the messenger believes and said that space creatures sabotaged his election how can you take that seriously,ie,toy with voting for a man who made such a statement. Politicians who make outrageous false statements have no basis to be taken seriously. Here are a few . Trump says windmills cause cancer. Trump started his career on the lie that Obama was born in Kenya and is Muslim. When any politician makes whacked out false statements out of bounds we should not take them seriously. Thanks for the feedback.

          • Richard, you again missed the point. It was simply about the need for people to listen to other viewpoints. No need to respond back to me.

🇺🇸 God bless you Dan. Because of that document all of us here in Westport are entitled to our differences of opinions and view points. May we never lose sight that at our core we are all Americans, living in one nation, indivisible and with liberty & justice for all. 🇺🇸
