Dog Days Of January

Cooper is Betsy P. Kahn’s new puppy. He lives at the beach, near Finn Atwood. Today, they both had a blast. (Photo/Lorelei Young Atwood)

Meanwhile, not far away, this dog stood guard — or tried to figure out what was happening — at Compo Beach. (Photo/Jaime Bairaktaris)

Lizzie usually loves the snow. Today — not so much. (Photo/Ted Horowitz)

Of course, dogs weren’t the only animals out today. These geese gathered in a gaggle at Sherwood Mill Pond. (Photo/Matt Murray)

  1. Matt, your mill pond geese shot is gorgeous!!!

If they all woke up and started flapping their wings at once, d’ya think they’d carry away the whole frozen pond with them?

I am enjoying the pictures. We have had a very cold stretch but nothing like they have forecast for you. I am hoping that the tides, wind and snow accumulation is not as bad as has been predicted.

Gosh, any good dog knows that after playing in the snow it’s important to salt the walkways, then uncork a good Bordeaux, and then curl up with a “Fire and Fury”.
