Today’s light but steady snowfall made driving treacherous.
(Except for the usual bozos barreling along the Post Road at their usual breakneck speed. Slow down, guys!)
Our postal carriers were undeterred. They lived up to their motto — as this photo from Drumlin Road shows.
The truck made its way up the unplowed road with some difficulty, alert photographer Fred Cantor reports.
But it did deliver the mail.

Saturday mail delivery?!
Dan. What about the scouts picking up discarded xmas trees all day? They are just finishing up and have been going since 7am. I think they collected 600+ trees!!! Laurie

Congrats! But no one sent a picture. Photos always tell a story…
Tree gone, footprints in the snow, no photos of the Boy Scouts
in action but I know it happened!
Gotta say that I came home from work at 4:30 and the roads are the worst I can remember driving on in Westport. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t all that much snow (maybe 6″ so far) and the accumulation was slow, so I wonder why things weren’t cleared better?
Paying for mail delivery rather than plows and salt?
Chris, I can’t comment on other Westport roads but the unplowed street in the pic is a private road. (And our street is typically plowed pretty quickly. Today it made for good sledding for neighborhood kids.)
I meant Post Road!
