The final picture of Oscar’s is a fitting end to the season and a long tradition of homegrown excellence and dedication to service the community.

  5. Wonderful pics! What kind of camera do you use? Thanks.

  6. Stunning! I want them! … almost didn’t see the seagull flying past the lifeguard stand (what’s that underneath the stand?)

    Happy Fall!

Wonderful pictures Dan, one reason I check your site every day. Since I haven’t lived in Westport since 1969, of course I don’t recognize all the people you write about, although have gotten up dates on old friends on this blog. However, the pictures are a different stories, many I remember vividly, these pictures are great and bring back memories. The cannons were often a gathering point for us, remember one Sunday afternoon we had a party there (about 20 of us). I remember walking along Compo Beach with a couple of girl friends, late September, it was late afternoon, beach almost empty, still warm, but a bit of fall in the air, and the sun was setting, so beautiful and peaceful. Several of these pictures capture that mood.

    P.S. I also remember Oscar’s.
