Life Is A Beach

First we had a North Carolina winter, with scarcely a flake of snow.

Most of May, though, has been cold and rainy.

Surprise! Today the temperature hit 90.

Many Westporters did the natural thing: They headed to Compo.

Cool! (still too early for swimming, judging on the vacant lifeguard stand — my favorite Westport icon!)

Well, I surely do miss that! (Compo, that is). 😎

… and Memorial Day Hibachi barbecues (is that still allowed at Compo?) Have a good one!

Well, they’ve had those stone grills on the south/south-west side for as long as I can remember. Guess one could say “cooking on open flame” is still alive and well at the beach. For instance, think: “Dan’s 06880 party” there each summer!

The pic of the person relaxing with the ipad made me sad. It’s 4th of July! Dig your feet in the sand, have a hot dog. Look around and mentally take it all in. Leave the electronics devices at home.
