“06880” Scoops Wall Street Journal

Several alert “06880” readers sent me links to yesterday’s Wall Street Journal “My Ride” story on Tom Topalian.

In it, Tom Topalian tells how he and brother Phil started their Good Humor business. It’s a cool story, centered around a converted 1967 Ford F-250 pickup.

It’s also a story that “06880” readers might remember. I told it first — in June 2010. Nice try, WSJ.

On the other hand, their economics reporting beats mine.

  1. Hey Dan Since I saw this about the ice cream truck, I thought you might be interested in the link below.

I had this published in the NY Times on Monday. A small piece but might be of interest to you and your readers since I live in Westport. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/10/nyregion/metropolitan-diary-before-dating-apps-there-was-lincoln-center.html?_r=0

  2. I catered an event at the Weston FD last summer and called “Phil & Tom’s” as I’d hired them for parties many times before. Their mother always handled the calls and made the bookings. When the truck arrived last summer I met Phil & Tom’s parents who have been running the company now solo for several years since the “boys” left for other pastures. The “boys” aren’t involved in the business any more as far as I know
