I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing the driver who parked this way the other night was a relatively young dad. (And yeah, this has “guy” written all over it.)
The reason I’m so sure is that the site was Long Lots School. The event was a 4th grade PAL basketball game.
The alert — and amazed — “06880” reader who took the photo noted that the parking lot (aka “where you are supposed to park”) was largely empty.
And yes, this is a Westport driver. Those are beach stickers on the windshield.
Look for him at Compo this summer!
As I said, there’s a book on this subject. mmm
I just don’t get the fascination so many people have regarding the submission of photos of horrendously bad parking jobs all over town.
Fine, take a picture, but these a-holes that park like this don’t care about any public shaming.
“If you see something, say something ” !! And what does that mean in these instances of poor and Illegal parking ? CALL THE POLICE so that they will write a ticket and tow the offending cars.
Pretty simple.
Um, was alcohol involved?
Since you’ve been posting these pictures, I’ve been looking around my Tucson, AZ neighborhood strip malls and parking lots for similar parking-challenged individuals, and can’t find any. Still……..a mostly empty school parking lot and this? Entitled much? Shaking my head….
Well, Marcy ….. his/her Audi (or whatever) is VERY special, so one must make exceptions for this. And so much more, it seems. ; )
A6
Hopefully there were no pedestrians under the car, did anyone check??
Dan, you really must encourage photographers to clearly capture the car’s plate number.
Its amazing isn’t it.
Why did he park so far away from the front door?
Absolutely must be closer to the gymnasium door.
Cut him a break. He needed the exercise.
Laugh out loud, Dan.
I really, *REALLY* want to believe they had a good reason for doing this. Like, they had brought a bunch of equipment to the school for the game, or perhaps it was an educational worker who was schlepping things in and out of classrooms, or something else generous in spirit.
But the curb was 2 ft away..
I said I want to believe, I didn’t say I unlocked that achievement yet! 😉
Im surprised this twit didnt park in a handicapped space
Maybe it was STOLEN?!?!?
Maybe he had a bathroom emergency??
Clearly a marketing ploy. The Germans are sehr clever, after all, knowing 06880 would post yet another “parking story”.
Seems as if the whole area is empty of cars and people. Wonder if the driver frightened them away!
Thought we were all required to use full names on here now Dan?
Yep. Who isn’t?
Politics.
LOL — my favorite Dan stories – sorry if that offends those who don’t like the parking stories — I find them humorous and oh so hard to believe. Seems more obvious in smaller Westport but this is happening in many places — where I live in large Midwest city- it’s happening – obnoxious. Just out in Portland visiting daughter, and all of the entitled Californians moving into the city are ruining traffic out there — stretching the good will of the Portlanders who are laid back and friendly people. Wonder what it’s going to take to shake people out of their narcissism?
Well, at least in Portland, anything that keeps Portland weird is a good thing. 🙂
