We’ve all driven past the Merritt Parkway Exit 42 commuter lot. But how many of us notice the forlorn, abandoned pay phone there?
As far back as 2009, I posted a photo on “06880.” It has not aged well since. Congratulations to Jerry MacDaid and Peter Blau, for correctly identifying it as last week’s photo challenge. Click here to see Lynn U. Miller’s sad image of it.
This week’s challenge is a bit more colorful.

A church, library, or florist!
One of the flowers “courtesy of geigers” arrangements. Possibly in town center
Main entrance of Staples?
Soundview Drive?
Bedford Square!
A restaurant in Bedford Square!
Bedford Square isn’t open yet!
I thought there were restaurants through an arched walkway nearby?

Same patina as Staples!
Haven’t we seen this before?
No. You’re thinking of the outside wall of the Staples auditorium.
No, not at all.
Anyway, I believe that Alex Elias should share kudos with Madison.
agreed. I immediately commented when i saw it, as I pass those pots every day on my way off the bus, but Alex did comment it first.
Great that both of you are observant and interested!!
Cheers!
Could it be outside one of the buildings in the new Saugatuck area?
Sorry — I posted this before I saw the correct answer.
Staples High School is fortunate to have Geigers donating the flowers and plants and maintaining the beautiful planters in the front of the high school! We thank them for their generosity!
The outcome?
