On the brick wall of the building housing Art’s Deli and Arezzo, facing the saugatuck
Andy’s got it! You’ve got to look at the side of the building from the bridge to get a good look at it.
Behind Arezzo Restaurant on Riverside Avenue.
It’s on the old brick building on the bridge on the left as you go on the post rd toward Norwalk. The east-ish side of the bldg. it’s the place where there are a bunch of shops including my favorite, the Age of Reason!
Correct to all who answered the Arrezzo/Art’s Deli building. As Elizabeth noted, it’s best viewed from the Post Road bridge, headed toward Norwalk.
How long has it been there? I must confess, I still don’t recall having ever noticed it (and I have on occasion walked across that bridge).

Good call, Mike! I’m particularly impressed you know the name of the building!
Michael would know for sure but I believe at one time long ago Calise’s Market was in that building at the corner of State Street and Riverside.
Dear Dan: Where was #2? Having lived here for only a bit more than 60 years, I am stymied. Thanks. Estelle Kesselman (meemtoo@aol.com).
If you mean Photo Challenge #2, here is the link: http://06880danwoog.com/2015/01/11/oh-my-06880-todays-photo-challenge/
A new challenge is posted every Sunday at noon. Enjoy!

Compo Beach shower/bathrooms/changing house
I agree with Estelle et al. I drive by that location often and have never seen the Oars on a brick wall at the intersection. (Unless you have to park your car in the back?) Would have said the rowing club even though they have no brick walls, Rich!
Cristina, next time you’re on the Post Road bridge headed to the awful light at Riverside Avenue/Wilton Road, take a look at the brick building on the left!
Calise’s Package Store was on that corner, the grocery store was across the street. There were four groceries on that side of town as well as two automoble agencies and more than enough bars, The center of it all was Vigilant Fire House. When the Alarms sounded everyone dropped what they were doing and jumped on the fire truck!
Different times!
These oars are mounted on the side of the building at the Saugatuck river above the Subkoff antiques shop.

Compo bath houses?
I just saw them today as I was driving over the bridge downtown. They are mounted on the brick building near the Arezzo’s sign.
