Last month, someone complained about Lloyd Allen’s LL Farm Stand sign in the Post Road median. He took it down.
Lloyd’s back, with a perfectly legal — and very rustic-looking — sign in front of his Post Road place.
Right behind it — and also inviting — is a hand-written sign for all the good stuff Calise’s Market offers up.
Westport is awash in signs. If we’re going to have ’em, these are the ones that hit the mark.
Welp, at least he put them on his own property. And I love the Calise’s. But check out the espanade at Long Lots/North Avenue where Milton Friedman does a very nice job of landscaping the small parcel of land. Lord, there are signs galore. Two weeks ago, there were 14 signs on that area. Same goes for the schools. Saugatuck Elementary and Staples are cluttered with them. Maybe I wouldn’t mind so much if they took the damn things down when their event has passed.
gimme a sign…
We love Lloyd’s LL Farm stand! And we like the sign too. 🙂
much thanks
a business without a sign is a sign of no business
uh-huh
A newspaper without ads is defunct.
papers bought to read articles, not ads, sign of the times
Except people read books and not newspapers. Tired of the 4th estate apparently.
A day without sunshine, is like night.
A better idea would be to put up neon signs on everyone’s property announcing their FACEBOOK activities. It would be about as interesting and visually polluting.
Laughed out loud on this one
so not a better idea
Why does LL Farm Stand need signs when they get free advertising from the Professor on 06680 blog???? Lloyd, Dan does accept subscription contributions.
thanks for the reminder. gonna contribute. Dan does abide.

Oh well, it loooks like our town is getting OCD !
It looks to be Allen reverts to SIGN language when it comes to going for his wallet on advertising.
His beef smokes grass?????????
if I thought advertising would bring net gains I so would do it. years ago, i did half page ads in Westport News, weekly, yearly…. constant. The landscape has changed. A roadside sign brings instant results. Grass Fed Beef brings in the neighbors. Sweet Corn, Local Strawberries….
