An alert “06880” reader wondered if we’d seen 2 dumpsters on Westport roads.
One’s on Terhune Drive; the other (below) is on Pleasant Valley Lane.
No, we hadn’t seen them. But we did a little drive-by, and sure enough, there they were.
They’ve been sitting there for 6-8 months, the reader reported.
And “they smell like hell.”
Indeed they do. Look closely at the photo. You can almost see the odor waves wafting off, like a cartoon.
There oughta be a law…
Wait! Maybe there is one, already on the books.
Certainly an example of how private enterprise tends to ignore the safety of our citizens while the government ignores it. Thanks to the “06880” blog, in its indepth investigative reporting, for the revelation.
Thanks Dan. The dang dumpster has been stinking up the neighborhood for too long. Their excuse has been “the mafia” took over the previous company and refuse to honor their committments. Yeah right. The Health Department has been notified. We will see how quick they react. Certainly not has fast as you did!!!!
I have the same problem with my neighbor on Reichert Circle. Who do you call?
I worked construction for a period of time when I lived in Westport. We would have dumpsters at job-sites and sometimes those jobs would be delayed. Water at the bottom of a dumpster eventually gets nasty but the construction materials don’t smell nearly as bad as the other crap people furtively toss into them.
