The good news: Bonda is back.
The bad news: It’s not back in Westport.
The good news: It’s back in Fairfield, just a couple of miles away.
The popular Saugatuck wine bar/restaurant — which closed in April when the building went on the market — has reopened at 75 Hillside Road, in the very convenient mini-business district of Greenfield Hill.
The soft opening has gone well. The staff is the same — “GREAT!,” one “06880” reader enthuses — but there is, the reader adds, “a bit more of a grown-up, restaurant feel.”
The Fairfield site uses the same comfortable tables and chairs as before, and the same vintage posters (advertisements for European drinks) line the walls.
The look is bright and new — a stylish reimagining of the old Colline Verte space.
Westporters who have found the new Bonda seem pleased.
That’s good news indeed.
Funny the foodie establishment prior to Bonda was a pricey “Best Burger” in the state according to CT Mag… Good luck Bonda I hope you do well
Happy Bonda Restaurant is up & running…even though it is in Fairfield. My husband Tom is still trying to find a place as cozy as the former Abondanza for lunch and all that happily worked there! We will be visiting their new restaurant…Betty Lou Cummings
The staff is the same — “GREAT!,” Abbondanza & Bonda have the most delightful crew; thank you for letting your readers know where to find them.

Welcome Bonda!
I once had the best Filet and potato dinner when you were in Westport.
I will be coming to your new location ASAP!
