Dan, love how you use the full formal names for everything! I’m learning them. And shame on me for ignoring all the parks along the river driving home up Saugatuck and Riverside Avenues from 95 for 21 years. Is there a map anywhere with all, what NYC used to call, these “vest pocket” parks in town? Park and Rec have one? Google Maps, otherwise incredible, is worthless. I have a 20-year-old set of topographical maps of Westport bought from The Travelers’ Bookstore on Railroad Place. If I could find them. Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks, Bill. And thanks for your great question. The answer is: Sure! The town’s official website lists all town-owned parks, under the Parks & Recreation link. Here’s the direct link: https://www.westportct.gov/government/departments-a-z/parks-and-recreation/parks
Enjoy!
Thanks, Dan, got it bookmarked. Great interactive map on the great new website. Of course, the Newman-Poses Preserve is not town-owned, but the Aspetuck Land Trust’s, as you know. The town site doesn’t claim it, just says “Here are all the parks in Westport.” Never knew about Canal Beach in Saugatuck Shores, which I’m certain has neither sand nor parking. Will check it out sometime.
Thanks, Patricia
More wonderful photos from our Grace K Salmon Park.
