Westport Police say:
At approximately 2:45 p.m. today (Tuesday, September 10), Westport Police were alerted to a person who had absconded supervision from St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health at 47 Long Lots Road.
The person has a history of behavioral health issues, as well as domestic violence arrests.
This information, as well as the time of day and school dismissal, guided our response in issuing a Nixle alert.
We set up a perimeter, deployed our drone team, and requested a K-9.
The party was on probation, and fitted with a mobile tracking bracelet. Working with Probation, we tracked him to Compo Road South, where an off-duty police officer located and detained the subject at approximately 3:35 pm.
The party was returned to St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health without issue. Westport Police will continue to investigate this incident.
