Photo Challenge #375

Cropping is key.

For each week’s Photo Challenge, I try to crop out all truly obvious clues. But I also try to leave enough in so it’s not impossible.

I think I did a great job last week. There was just enough left after cropping Susan Iseman’s image of a turtle painting to see that it might be a lifeguard stand. (Click here to see.)

But the question remained: Where?

Longtime Longshore Sailing School owner John Kantoro and Diane Bosch both knew: Sherwood Island.

For decades, Connecticut’s first state park was ignored by Westporters. During the pandemic, many residents discovered this gem, in the heart of our shoreline.

If you haven’t been there: Go! It’s beautiful. It’s wide open. It’s free (of course during the off-season, but also in summer — provided you’ve got Connecticut plates).

Now there’s one more reason: to be able to answer Photo Challenges like these correctly.

Here’s this week’s shot. If you know where in Westport you’d see this, click “Comments” below.

HintIt’s not at Sherwood Island.
