Staples Students Are Real SLOBs

While you and I greeted May with hot chocolate and a warm fire, dozens of Staples High School boys (and their parents) were outside, working.

The school’s Service League Of Boys (SLOBs) annual service day included weeding, planting, mulching, painting, cleaning and garbage pick-up. They fanned out to town beaches and parks, A Better Chance Glendary House, and many more spots throughout the town.

SLOBs’ service day is big. But the boys do plenty throughout the year too. Since September alone, they’ve volunteered at over 100 community events, here and in neighboring towns — providing over 4,000 hours of service.

SLOBs like these are pretty neat, huh?
