Luxe Modern Wine & Cocktails — a cozy, relaxing and reasonably priced bar in the small shopping center just beyond Avery Place — shut its doors today.

To our friends, patrons and partners –
We very reluctantly are announcing our decision to close LUXE modern Wine & Cocktails as of today, October 2nd. For the past two years, we’ve loved doing what we set out to do; meeting great people, turning you on to new wines and cocktails and providing a forum for conversation and community.
Unfortunately the economics just aren’t sustainable and we don’t feel right about lowering our quality or standards by delivering a product that isn’t simply and delightfully perfect just to stay in business. We truly appreciate your patronage and friendship and will miss you all. We’ll keep our Facebook page up so please stay in touch.
And yes – if you simply can’t live without the recipe for your
favorite cocktail – we’ll be there for you one last time. It was always about the sharing for usCheers!

This makes me very sad. Thank you both, for making Luxe “the stop” when Kenzie and I were down in Fairfield County. We had our first date there, and it is the only time where I fell in love twice in one night. I will continue to make Last Man Standings from December up until the first day of spring in honor of Luxe.
