Hire Dan Woog

I am a writer, public speaker and coach.

I am always on the lookout for interesting projects — blogs to write, new media, books, magazine and newspaper articles, corporate work, you name it. My specialties include personality pieces, education, sports, GLBT issues, lifestyle and business. If you’ve got a great idea — and want sharp, crisp, fly-off-the-paper copy — let’s talk!  dwoog @ optonline. net

In addition to this blog, my work has appeared in the New York Times, Sports Illustrated and USA Today.

I also tutor writers. If you want to become a better, stronger, livelier writer — or simply need help with an upcoming speech, presentation, application essay or other writing project, give a yell!  dwoog @ optonline. net

I also speak nationally, on two separate (but both very important) topics:  youth sports, and GLBT issues.

My youth sports talks are based on decades of experience as a player, coach (including National Youth Soccer Coach of the Year, and Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame inductee) and journalist. As head boys soccer at Staples High School since 2003, my teams won 1 state and 4 league titles, and 18 Team Academic All-America honors. I speak at state and club annual meetings, and parent groups (think PTAs) about the twin values of competing hard, and keeping competition in perspective.

I am founder and chair of United Soccer Coaches’ LGBT & Allies advocacy group. I helped found Staples High School’s Gay-Straight Alliance, and for over 20 years was facilitator of the Triangle Community Center’s OutSpoken youth group.

I am a frequent guest on television (“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “Donahue,” “NewsTalk,” “In the Life,” “Forward and Out”), radio (NPR, Australian Broadcasting Company, UPI Network, Pacifica), and new media. I’ve been featured in stories in the New York Times, International Herald Tribune and Dallas Morning News.

I have spoken at, to and for:

  1. Dan:

It’s been over 12 years since you helped me but I wanted to tell you again how grateful I was (am) for your help with my business school applications. I remember your first feedback: “start over”. That was exactly what I needed. I don’t take it for granted that your coaching and editing skills helped get me accepted at Kellogg!

And thanks again for the tour of the “new” Staples at the Class of ’87 reunion!

    Tom Feeley (Staples ’87)
    Northwestern (Kellogg) MBA ’00

  2. Is that Tom Feeley of Information Clearing House?

    If so, my compliments!

    Mark

Tired of review sites or need Reputation work? Hire us to knock them off the front page of Google under your search term.
Our company has been in the business of taking over the first page of Google for our clients for 8 years and knocking off complaint sites. We can do the same for your company and review sites.
We will create special websites and blogs and link them to the 15 thousand websites we already have. These websites will knock the review sites away and replace them with content you control

  5. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker
