Thank you for this photo, it’s one of my favorite places!
Jersey cows roaming the fields…..
That’s probably the last and largest open property in Westport. How nice! I once walked out into that field to photograph the gazebo but the ground was quite wet that day so I didn’t get very far. Once there were many properties almost that size – I remember some. Today developers will build on almost nothing, like the corner of an intersection (KingsHighway and Route 33). There are also developers in Stonington but we have something you don’t – Land! Nice green grass in this photograph! I’d still like to see a close-up of the gazebo.
One of my last memories of my dad was when he took me to this field in 1956.
Brings back great memories! Amazing that it looks just the same as when I was a kid growing up in Greens Farms in the 50’s and 60’s!
The dairy was always full of orange tabby cats. And it was a well not a gazebo
I also have memories of my Dad and I walking to this field and up to the well, back in the 1970’s. Amazing that it looks the same! Time warp.
Yes,Agree with Sharon Paulsen-..Thankfully this field still looks the same as when I lived on Morningside Drive South, late 1970’s..:-)
