    • I was wondering that too. And the term Bankside House sounds peculiar. Does that mean the side of the river and the river bank? A bit redundant, no? Or maybe the House IS a Bank.

    The Bankside Farmers were five colonial farmers whose holdings were on the east bank of the Saugatuck.

    Yonkers wish’s it was lucky enough to have a Roger Ferris designed building.

    And so as to set the record straight:

    The building once completed will not be black. What you see now if the exterior waterproofing which will be covered by a maintenance free rain screen
    In my opinion, this is one of the most creative and beautiful designs. 12 residences, no shared walls, windows on all four sides and ample outdoor space.
    The name denotes it’s location on the West Bank of the Saugatuck. That said, liked reading about the Bankside Farmers. Learn something new every day.
