As a new year dawns — across the world, and here in Westport — let’s pause.
Take a deep breath.
Think back on the many good things that happened this past year — amid all the bad.
Vow to overcome obstacles in the year ahead. Be good. Do better. Give thanks. Act graciously. Love and laugh. Drive safely.
Never take for granted the beauty that surrounds us. Cherish scenes like this one, at Compo Beach:
And remember: As tough as times seem now, the sun will come up tomorrow.
Who new Westport’s own Jimmy Izzo is such a good photographer !
Your note on this first day of the New Year is exactly on point.
Many of us have ended correspondence during this terrible pandemic with the words “Be safe and be well.” Your reminder that we should also be thankful and be better is both poignant and true.
I would like to start the New Year off with a quote from Mother Teresa “Do Something Beautiful for God”
Sincerely,
Gerald F. Romano, Jr.
