Stop building 200 unit apartment units, duh
Traffic was horrendous everywhere today. Roads were being ripped up all over town, as well as neighboring towns.
Poor timing for road work. Who schedules paving and digging around the holidays?
INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING [AND I AM A LOUD ONE] WHAT CAN WE DO TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AS IT EXISTS? DO WE NEED TO HIRE A “PROFESSIONAL”TO GET US OUT OF THIS MESS?
Mrs Tooker: There needs to be traffic cops at some of these intersections moving folks along for the love of Pete!
In the most recent election, one candidate made traffic an issue and he got beat. I have been bellowing for “blinking” lights” on North Avenue near our four (4) schools to slow traffic during school hours. This fall semester, I got two big signs for two weeks. No one is listening. Too many cars for too few roads? The entire I-95 corridor is grid lock especially trucks jamming up our section of Ike’s idiocy.
The Connecticut Turnpike was designed before Ike’s idiocy was conceived. It’s purpose was to divert traffic off the Post Road. The Interstate System would never allow as many exit/entrances as the Turnpike has.
It may be remembered that the Connecticut Turnpike proposed a “connector” from Exit 18 on I-95 to Exit 42 of the Merritt. Makes sense? Not to the many new inhabitants to the Cross Highway area of town. Not smiley times at the dinner table back then. Lodge killed it.
