Doug Quinn’s popular restaurant at the corner of Main and Canal Streets has plenty of artwork. Much of it relates to Westport (including Paul Newman, who would have loved the place).
Then there’s a woman reclining on a wine bottle, underneath a cow’s head. (Click here to see.)
Jacqui Bidgood, James Weisz, Rachel Halperin-Zibelman, Robert Mitchell, Andrew Colabella, Phil Kann and Deirdre O’Farrelly all knew that both could be found on Hudson Malone’s outdoor patio.

The old house at terrain
That house between terrain and the fire department.
It is indeed the house between Terrain and the fire station. It’s in a state of disrepair, for sure. How long it will last is anyone’s guess.
That house was a dress shop at one time. It was a rather nice house, probably still could be. If it’s destroyed, something bigger will go there making left turns from Crescent Road much harder. Left turns at the other end of this crescent-shaped road have always been difficult.
It was a Dress Barn many (maybe 50) years ago.
If I remember correctly, the Terrain owners wanted to demolish it several years ago, to make a parking lot. They were turned down, because the house is an Antique. They’re probably letting it demolish itself slowly, so that they can get a blight order.

The sadly dilapidated house next to Terrain was at one point an antique store run by the late Giselle and Tony Springer who had escaped Nazi Germany.When Giselle died Tony went back to Spain near Seville and produced antique reproductions .When I was in Seville I tracked Tony down and he invited me to the factory Had a lovely lunch and reminisced about Westport .Great memories.
