0*6*Art*Art*0 — Week 6 Gallery

Welcome to the 6th edition of our online art gallery.

Every Saturday, we share readers’ artwork. Professional, amateur, old, young  — send us your painting, collage, sketch, photo, sculpture, chalkwork, cartoon, whatever.

The only rule is it must be inspired by, reflective of, or otherwise related to the times we’re going through. We’re all experiencing tons of emotions, and art is a wonderful way to express (and share) them. Email your submission to dwoog@optonline.net.

Keep the submissions coming. If yours is not posted yet, be patient. There will be more next Saturday. And unfortunately, for some time to come.

Patricia McMahon spotted this hand-painted shell on the Compo Beach seawall.

Jana Ireijo began painting a koala in response to the Australian brushfires. Now, in isolation, she found it soothing to work on again. You can see the shape of Australia on the nose; in the highlight of the eye is the state of Connecticut. “It’s a reminder to me of how connected we all are,” Jana says.

“This Too Shall Pass” (Beth DeVoll)

Sea glass (Pam LaRocca)

Greens Farms Elementary School 3rd grader Carter Klein sends an important message.

“A New Day Shall Come” (Lawrence Gordon)

Staples High School senior Morgan Fierro found an old, never built special LEGO in his attic. Here’s the finished product.

Untitled (Andrea Metchick)

Mobile, made with plastic coated paper (Gail Bernson)

June Eichbaum says, “whoever painted this wall and planted plastic tulips at Hidden Hill Road on South Compo turned drab concrete into a happy day.”

Amy Schneider says, “thank you, first responders!”

“Random” (Werner Liepolt)

Karen Weingarten took these photos last summer. She looks forward to their inspiring return soon.

What wonderful works, and what a privilege to have this opportunity to view them. My favorite is of the mobile by Gail Bernson. Its exquisite delicacy and grace are nothing short of delightful.
