Just wondering why was this stream was named Dead Man Brook?
It’s “Deadman Brook,” as noted in the caption. Named for someone whose last name was (believe it or not) Deadman!
Deadman? Wasn’t that Dean Wormer?
According to a 1867 map of Westport, this stream was called “Dead Mans Brook”. I couldn’t find any information as to why this name. Perhaps Morley Boyd knows.
