Another Day, Another Bad Thunderstorm

The skies are clear now. But power is out around town, after a very fierce, very loud thunderstorm roared through Westport a few minutes ago.

This was the scene on Weston Road. “The photo doesn’t show how close this was,” says Brian Chandler, who was driving and whose quick reflexes averted a potential tragedy. “It was literally a few feet away.”

The forecast is for partly cloudy skies tonight and tomorrow. Thunderstorms are possible Wednesday.

ONE OF THE WORST STORMS IN MY MEMORY. SO NOISY I HAD TO TURN OFF MY HEARING AIDS (HA HA) FORTUNATELY I DID NOT LOSE ELECTRICITY THIS TIME. SYMPATHIES TO THOSE WHO DID .. . . .

Frankly given the trees going down during every storm maybe pull over and wait it out might be something to consider in an extreme storm like this was.

Shout out to all the first responders in the immediate area running around during the storm and the aftermath.
You’re all (Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield, Weston and Stamford etc…) doing a fantastic job.
    Thank You 👌
Stamford Fire Department was covering Norwalk Fire territory because all of Norwalk Fire was at a house fire off of William St. That house fire was started by a lightning strike that hit the 200 LB propane tank. The homeowners along with the two dogs and two cats are fine. The backside of the house is torched. Norwalk Fire saved quite a bit of the house.
Also Norwalk Fire is at Duck Pond Rd on the Norwalk Westport line with the road closed.

Kindof nervous about driving to/from Westport any time there are storms forecast now. Where I am in New Haven County, I actually only get them about 30% of the time and they are generally not bad. You do seem to get an inordinate amount of them 🙁

waited it out in the CVS. Other customers had to convince an older gentleman not to drive, nor go to his car using his metal cart during the storm.

Climate change has been declared in Connecticut and Alaska.
    A tragic reality….
