Good News! No More “Drive-Thrus” At Compo Shopping Center

One of Westport’s oddest traditions — drivers plowing through the storefronts of Compo Shopping Center’s bank, delicatessen and retail stores — is ending.

Last night, alert “06880” reader Jeff Gray spotted workers placing bollards up and down the sidewalk.

  3. I’m still amazed at how many drivers cannot navigate through a parking lot at 5-10 mph without driving through a storefront. What do these drivers do at 30 mph or at 60? Scary!

    How soon until the first bollard is hit .?Hopefully people will slow down and pay attention .Long overdue

    ..as the girl who stepped on the gas instead of the brake during Driver’s Ed many, many years ago, I’ve always had sympathy for the generally older drivers who hit these store because I feared I might join their ranks if my kid doesn’t pull me off the road before I go gaga…
