Turnout was light this morning around town, as the Democratic and Republican parties held primary elections.
The scene at Town Hall earlier this morning. Similar light turnout was reported throughout Westport.
Sure, there’s not the drama of a presidential race. But the offices of governor, attorney general and treasurer are important.
And of course, generations of Americans have fought and died protecting our right to vote.

Can anyone help me decide who to vote for? Should I base my vote on the size of the direct mail cards, the amount of words in each card, the total number of yard signs on the streets and intersections, or on the amount of robotic and real phone calls we received? I’m playing the Jeopardy theme while waiting for the correct answer. 🙂
Matt. Base your vote on whether you think CT is heading in the right direction or not. Are home values going up, or down? Has education funding been increased or decreased? Have taxes gone up, yet the quality of life in CT fallen?
If you focus on what is happening in CT you might just easily decide who to vote for.
Remember, we will have nobody to blame but ourselves.
But, but, Bart, how can I ignore the cards, signs, TV commercials, and phone calls?! They are so effective on delivering the messages of how to change Connecticut, especially since they are all true.

It’s ok. This is Westport. Think about it-Home prices are dropping and jobs are leaving an Westport seems not to care.
