The weather was not great. The miles were not easy.
But 92-year-old Paulette Weibel sat at the end of her driveway today, cheering on the hundreds of Bloomin’ Metric bicyclists who struggled up the Bayberry Lane hill.
She waved to every one.
And nearly every one waved back.
Paulette’s daughter Joyce Bottone asked “06880” to give a shout-out to all those bikers who — despite their exhaustion — returned the wave.
But Paulette deserves our thanks too. Those guys (and gals) loved seeing you there!
She is a wonderful person with a heart of gold.
Your too sweet. She truly is genuine gem! Hoping you guys are doing well. It was so nice of Dan to post this!
It was quite nice to have an actual spectator, and a cheering one at that.
A nice encouragement for the cyclists. At the first Minute Man Race, Rose Mary Ryan inspired runners at the finish line with a boom box playing the theme from “Chariots of Fire” . At that time the race ended at the lower lot of the Women’s Clubhouse.
So sweet … gotta love her
I loved seeing her there. She asked me if I needed a push, I would have liked one.
