Bernie Perry’s Iran

It’s tough to get to Iran.

But you don’t have to travel halfway around the world for a glimpse at that country’s fascinating daily life.

Just go to the Senior Center.

Internationally acclaimed photographer Bernie Perry has developed a book and gallery show called “Iran: Lifting the Veil.” On Thursday, he unveiled an exhibit of his work.

Perry — who specializes in social photography — has unlocked some of the mysteries of that ancient land. He is particularly pleased to have interviewed and photographed young women pushing hard for more personal freedoms and better jobs.

His work will also be on display at the Saugatuck Digital Arts Workshop (1499 Post Road, Fairfield) beginning November 16.

“06880”‘s tagline is “Where Westport Meets the World.” Thanks to Bernie Perry, we’ve all got a chance now to examine one of the most historic, yet opaque, parts of that world.

  2. For anyone who missed Bernie’s captivating presentation at the Senior Center on Thursday, we will be displaying Bernie’s photos in our gallery in Fairfield. The opening is Thursday, November 16, and the images will be on display through the end of the year.

We are located in the heart of downtown Fairfield … on the lower level of the Fairfield University Bookstore building at 1499 Post Road.

Here’s link to our site http://saugatuckarts.com.

    Hope to see you there!

  3. Will Bernard Perry be at your opening reception in Fairfield? I am interested in these photos of Iran.

    • Yes! Bernie will be at the opening and will be discussing his experiences and photographs from his trip to Iran earlier this year. Food and refreshments will be served – it should be an illuminating and fun evening.

Yeah Dan Bernard Perry’s incredible lecture gave beautiful insights into Iran but even more important the follow-up week with Maggie Laney a 26 year old who when she was 19 went to Aleppo and her lecture was so spectacular that I gave her my lead to go to Vice news which you should be watching HBO every night at 7:30 and I urge you to go talk to her she’s a perfect example of today’s new generation and then after that you can maybe look into my little soap opera that I sent you Tucker Clark think about it

    • Tucker can you post comment on the Center facebook page per Megan? She is remarkable.
