Alisan Porter’s In “The Voice” Finals!

So far, so good!

Alisan Porter — the former Staples Players star who went on to fame in “Footloose” and “A Chorus Line,” and now has a devoted national following as founder of the very cool Lil’ Mamas website — has reached the finals of “The Voice.”

She joins 3 other contestants — none of whom could possibly be as good — in the 2-part finale. It airs today and tomorrow (May 23 and 24, 8 p.m. EDT) on NBC.

We’re all rooting for our hometown girl. We’ll be tuning in.

But just to make sure she gets her well-deserved win, here’s how you can help:

Please get everyone you know to watch Alisan tonight. She is going to blow the roof off. Then vote on Voice app, again on Voice Website with as many email addresses that you have and then, download her single on ITunes, which will give her extra votes—all legitimate. For all you Westporters who remember Alisan in West Side Story at Staples, you will definitely want to tune in tonight!

Her performance of “Somewhere” brought me to tears. Leonard Bernstein’s musical was first performed in 1957. Can you believe how relevant his music still is nearly 60 years later? Alisan nailed it. The other performers in my opinion were ho-hum and mostly relied on guitars and pianos or a coach to help them compose an original song. No question in my mind that Alisan is the best singer and performer.

I cannot believe the lack of comments. I’ll be watching the finale on Tuesday, although I hate the commercials, and am hoping Alisan will win. She definitely deserves to.

  4. Go Alisan!! She’s unbelievably good. Her classmates moms (like me) all knew she was Curly Sue but never knew she could sing like this. She’s utterly amazing. Incredible, even. She’s a singer who did a little acting, not the other way around. Watching and rooting!!

  5. Awesome, Alisan! Congratulations on winning the Voice!
