The Compo Shopping Center (CVS) parking lot is the worst in Westport Connecticut the US. Kyle Busch wouldn’t drive there if world peace depended on it.
But 162 Kings Highway North — home to doctors’ offices like Internal Medicine Associates — is a close 2nd.
The spaces are lined so tightly, you have to pull in perfectly. If you don’t, you’ll cross a line.
So it was surprising to see this very aggressive sign at the entrance:
That’s like the kid who murders his parents, and pleads for mercy because he’s an orphan.
Note to management: It’s your fault the spots are so tight.
Plus, the place is filled with doctor’s offices. Drivers here may not exactly be at the top of their game.
Although, come to think of it, this might be one way Terrain can get all those extra parking spaces they crave.
I just heard on the news that someone paid $540,000 for 2 parking spaces in Boston. (really!)
The CVS front parking lot is the worst in existence. I would suggest parking in the Compo Acres lot and then crossing the Post Road. But that pedestrian crossing happens to be the worst in existence. (On Wednesday I nearly got taken out by a school bus speeding down the hill and sailing straight through a mature red light.)
Caveat ambulator.

These parking lots are the bane of my life as a driver. Because I had knee replacement surgery I have to be able to open my car door all the way in order to leave my vehicle. These narrow space sites leave me trapped in my automobile. You’d think doctors would have a little compassion.

For the record the actual worst lot in America is the trader joes parking lot in Lafayette, ca. The designers of the Compo lot were basically brought in and told to replicate it, but to leave a lot less room between the two rows of cars.
If the parking lot owners were held at least partly responsible for fixing the dings and scratches on car’s paint resulting from cars parked to close together, tight spaces would quickly disappear.
Try parking in the back. Most of the stores have rear entrances.
